p90x Round two….NAILED IT! What about you?

Posted on October 11, 2008August 8, 2016 by Josh

Well, three months later and I can say…round two…I nailed it! That’s right, I finished another round of p90x! HA! The measurements and statistics are not in yet (haven’t taken them yet) but I can say that I am comfortably wearing jeans that are 8 inches less round than when I started! HA! Take that, fat! So what does this mean? It means…on to round three. Already started it, considering doing the “doubles routine” (adding a whole world of cardio to month’s two and three ON TOP OF the regular work-outs).This was a rough round, though. I injured my right shoulder pretty badly the very first day of this round…but I DID NOT STOP! You don’t stop, you modify (Than You Tony Horton). I persevered, and it payed off.

So, I have been actually thinking about becoming an official P90X coach, I have been getting people into this thing (this weird…fitness thing) and that might even be more satisfying that the workouts themselves. Accomplishing something great for yourself is one thing, but being able to share that with someone else, enabling someone else to partake in something that has added to your immediate quality of life SO MUCH, well..that is another thing all together.

But, I get it. To all you people who attacked me for being enthusiastic about what is happening to me and what I have discovered here (not just with the workout program, but within myself)…to all YOU I say…I get it. I get that you are very unhappy with yourselves, I used to be VERY overweight, I know how that feels…psychologically it’s torture, physically it’s not so fun either. You can be as angry and frustrated as you want to, but the fact of the matter is that frustration, that anger doesn’t belong with me. It belongs in the sewer, being flushed. Yep. Self hatred gets you nowhere, and if you want all of that negativity to go away you KNOW what you need to do about it. So, I challenge you. And this is for anyone reading this. I challenge you to, instead of saying things like, “Oh, there’s another fitness freak” or, “Don’t try to convert me, or sell me, bud…I do things when and how I WANT to…”, or, “Look at him go, I could never do that,” or anything else you might be saying or doing that keeps you from just getting up off of your butt and DOING it, I challenge you to start NOW. You and I both know it’s an excuse, and you need to get fit. You’ll be happier, and you know this. I challenge you to improve more than I have so that you can finally tell me to shut up. I challenge you to do this, and feel 100% better about yourself, and your life in 3 months time. I challenge you. Because there is nobody standing in your way, but you.

Finally, I know I promised pictures, I’ll get them up in a few days. Until then, here’s my progress spreadsheet from round two.
If anyone wants to take me up on the challenge, and wants to keep tabs with me here, I might open up some forum space here to keep in touch. There is a contact option in the (Evolving) “About JoshP” section you can use to send me an email.
Here we go, on to round three…the journey continues!

Do your best…and forget the rest!
